Minimum Wage Increases

States have decided to take action, being that the federal minimum wage hasn’t increased in over a decade. The following 26 states will now receive the following rates:

Alaska

  • $10.19
  • The rate does not differ for employees who receive tips

Arizona

  • $12.00
  • $9.00 for employees who receive tips

Arkansas

  • $10.00
  • The rate will stay the same for employees who receive tips ($2.63)

California

  • $12.00 for small employers (25 employees or less)
  • $13.00 for large employers (26 or more employees)
  • The rates to not differ for employees who receive tips

Colorado

  • $12.00
  • $8.98 for employees who receive tips

Florida

  • $8.56
  • $5.54 for employees who receive tips

Illinois

  • $9.25
  • $5.55 for employees who receive tips

Maine

  • $12.00
  • $6.00 for employees who receive tips

Maryland

  • $11.00
  • The rate will stay the same for employees who receive tips ($3.63)

Massachusetts

  • $12.75
  • $4.95 for employees who receive tips

Michigan

  • $9.65
  • $3.67 for employees who receive tips

Minnesota

  • $8.15 for small employers
  • $10 for large employers
  • The rate does not differ for employees who receive tips

Missouri

  • $9.45
  • $4.73 for tipped employees

Montana

  • $8.65
  • The rate does not differ for employees who receive tips

New Jersey

  • $11.00
  • $10.30 for seasonal and small employers
  • $10.30 for agricultural employers
  • $3.13 for employees who receive tips

New Mexico

  • $9.00
  • $2.35 for employees who receive tips

New York

  • $11.80

  • $8.70 for large employers (federal rate)
  • $7.25 for small employers (federal rate)
  • $4.35 for employees who receive tips

South Dakota
